Welcome to the Oregon Eldercare Support Foundation
The Oregon Eldercare Support Foundation (OESF) is a nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to supporting Oregon’s long term health care profession. OESF (formerly OHCF, Health Care Foundation) was established in 2000 to provide educational opportunities for current and future employees working in long term care (LTC) communities in Oregon, to offer programs that enrich the lives of Oregon’s seniors, and be involved with outreach to enhance the public understanding and appreciation of the long term care profession.
OESF awards scholarships in varying amounts for general and specialized study to long term care professionals each year. The Foundation also helps to facilitate the fulfillment of senior wishes through the Senior Wish Program by providing training for long term care professionals and directly funding some of these initiatives to help promote the effort throughout the state.
The priority goals of the Oregon Eldercare Support Foundation are to:
- Promote careers in long term care by awarding scholarships to those seeking employment in the long term care field as well as professionals in the industry for continuing or advanced education.
- Promote the Senior Wish Program that fulfills the dreams of Oregon’s seniors by providing training to long term care professionals on how to conduct the program, and by providing direct funding to help make the wishes a reality.
- Work to create a positive public perception of the profession by promoting the good work of the Foundation.
